Is the CompTIA A+ Certification Worth It?

 comptia a+ certification jobs

What does value mean to you? For most, value means that you get more out than what you put in. Getting a good deal on a house or buying a car at below market price is often equated with value. Sometimes value is measured by return on investment, or ROI. Other times value takes on a more elusive quality. For example, an unpaid internship doesn’t reward you with money, but instead experience – which in itself is often invaluable.

What about the CompTIA A+ certification? Is it valuable? Is CompTIA A+ worth the time and money you put in to studying and taking the exam? Keep reading to find out.

Is the CompTIA A+ Certification Worth It?

When it comes to what you put in versus what you get out, the CompTIA A+ certification is most definitely worth it – just ask the people who hold the almost 1.2 million CompTIA A+ certifications issued to date.

Those looking to start an IT career likely have aspirations to move up the ladder and eventually specialize in something they are passionate about like cybersecurity or software development. But everybody has to start somewhere. And the first step to launching that career is landing an entry-level position. That’s where CompTIA A+ becomes valuable.

CompTIA A+ is widely recognized as one of the very first IT certifications that prospective IT professionals should obtain. It’s the industry standard for launching IT careers. It not only validates your foundational knowledge, but it also shows employers that you are willing to learn and advance your career, and you have ability to study and pass an exam.

Simply having CompTIA A+ on your resume can place you above non-certification holders in line for an interview. And when you’re trying to win your first IT job, that’s a big deal.

Juniper Network or Make My Trip?

 juniper jobs

Juniper Networks india is a great place to work. I have been working here for 7 years now. You get to work with best brains in industry and latest innovations. As most office Juniper also has some share of office politics, impact depends on which BU and manager who fall under. Routing products are doing great in market so career is quite stable but may be for other products like switching, security and some stand alone products.

Contrail team is one of the best to work similiar to Cisco insieme network team.

Glass door has 4 star for Juniper Networks and communities rating of 98% which is one of highest.

I can't tell you how things work at Makemytrip, but let me tell you how things are at Juniper Networks India. These are solely my views, and others might feel differently.

Unless you are involved in some of the few new projects, you will be working on a legacy codebase. Almost everything is in C. There is little or no documentation for most of the stuff implemented. There is minimal training given to new joinees. You are expected to learn on your own, or get help from your colleagues. While many people do help, you have to accept the fact that many will not. Mostly not because they don't want to, but because they already have too much on their plate to deal with. There is an internal document repository, but trust me, finding something relevant is extremely painful and improbable.

There is a lot of bug-solving work, and many of the times it gets tossed around from one team to another instead of people collaborating and working together to find a solution. Work pressure sometimes becomes unbearable. WFH is available, but how frequently and how easily you can opt for it, is dependent on your manager. Some managers frown upon it a lot. Also, there is quite a bit of politics among different teams as well as within the teams. There are a lot of talented and experienced engineers from the industry, but many of them seem disappointed with how they are treated. Many of them feel their efforts go unappreciated. Compensation, at least in India, is not at par with the amount of effort you might put into the job.

Let's talk about the culture. If you are expecting an exciting environment, with brilliant colleagues, encouraging managers, helpful peers, a lot of "fun" activities, you will be disappointed. Further, if you are a fresher, you will find this place extremely dull, and will be overwhelmed by the amount of politics. There are some good teams with brilliant managers, but most of the middle level managers are horrible at their jobs. They talk a lot about innovation, but never realize how over-worked and under appreciated their employees feel. The company talks about how it cares about it's employees, but does little to ensure their happiness, and to address their issues.

Having said that, if you are genuinely interested in Networks, and don't mind putting in the extra effort required, you will find a lot of things to learn. I would say this is a very demanding company, and you need to be ready to slog, even when you don't like what you're doing. Your interest is hardly considered when assigning you to a project. Things used to be different a few years ago, but currently this is the way it is. If you're a fresher just out of college, you should consider other options.

Are junipers poisonous?

 juniper jobs  Are junipers poisonous?

In the mid-17th century, a Dutch physician named Francis Sylvius created and marketed a diuretic tonic made from juniper berries. This tonic, now known as gin, instantly became a huge hit throughout Europe as an inexpensive, domestic, buzz-producing alcohol beverage, rather than the medicinal tonic Sylvius had intended it to be. However, for centuries before Sylvius developed his juniper berry tonic, juniper berries had already been used as a strong flavoring for wine, mead, and other alcoholic beverages, as well as a spice for meats, stews, sauerkraut, and other dishes. Upon reading this, you may be wondering are all juniper berries edible? Read on for that answer. Are Juniper Berries Poisonous? First, it is important to take a closer look at what we consider a juniper berry. Juniper is a conifer that occurs naturally in many parts of the world. They can be found in the forms of small sprawling shrubs, medium-sized shrubs, right up to medium-sized trees. Juniper varieties are native to North America, Europe, and Asia. Throughout history, different parts of juniper have been used in different culinary and medicinal recipes, though it is the juniper berries that are used in juniper’s most noteworthy recipes. However, these “berries” are not really berries at all; they’re actually the fleshy cones of female junipers, which have such small, compacted scales that they have an appearance similar to berries. During the Middle Ages, juniper berries were used to ward off disease and infection. Though part of this may have been plague-paranoia, juniper berries do have antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-viral properties. Native Americans used juniper berries as a medicine to treat sore throats, colds, pain, fever, headaches, joint inflammation, dizziness, kidney stones, as well as to flavor wild game, cakes, and breads. The flavor of juniper berries is said to tone down the gaminess of venison, wild boar, waterfowl, and other game meats. The dusty coating on juniper berries is actually a wild yeast, so juniper berries have also been used for centuries in beer-crafting and breads; many sourdough starter recipes call for juniper berries. In Germany, authentic sauerbraten and sauerkraut are made with juniper berries. Juniper berries are not eaten in handfuls, straight off the bush like the sweet, juicy blueberries they resemble. Juniper berries have a strong, bitter, slightly peppery flavor and gritty texture. Instead, just a small quantity of mature juniper berries are added to recipes as a flavoring or spice. They can be added whole and fresh off the shrub to marinades, meat rubs, wood chips when smoking meats, or added to pickling meats. Juniper berries can even be added to hair rinses, vinegars, or oils to promote shiny hair. Whole berries are also added to teas and tinctures for their medicinal qualities and ground into salves for wound care. Juniper berries can take about two years to mature for use. When mature, they turn a dusty blue to black color. Mature, but still green juniper berries, are used to make gin.
